Apgujeong-dong is a residential, fashion and shopping district in the Gangnam district of Seoul. The dong originates from a pavilion with the same name founded by Han Myeong-hoe (Hangul:한명회 Hanja:韓明會 1415 - 1487), a high-ranking government officer during the Joseon dynasty.^[1] It currently contains many upscale department stores, shops, boutiques and restaurants. The area is the 10th most expensive shopping street in the world with an average rent of 431 USD per square foot.^[2]

The area is served by Apgujeong Station and Sinsa Station on the Seoul Subway Line 3.
