Aoife, earlier Aífe (Irish pronunciation: [ˈiːfʲə]), is an Irish female given name.

It is commonly regarded as an Irish language equivalent of the female given name Eve or Eva. However, this is incorrect as the names have very different origins. Suggestions that "Aoife" means "radiant beauty" or beautiful and is derived from the Irish word "aoibheann" (sweet) are likewise not supported by any philological evidence.
