Anusol is a medication that can be used to treat hemorrhoids (also known as piles). The Anusol range includes creams, ointments, and the suppository form of treatment. Anusol is now known under the brand name "Tucks". It is available over the counter in some jurisdictions, but by prescription only in the United States. [edit] ApplicationAdults: apply externally to the affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily. When practical, clean the affected area with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Not for oral use. [edit] Anusol in Popular CultureIn a sketch in Season 1 Episode 4 of Little Britain USA, Some Anusol marketing executives are having a meeting in which they are being informed about Anusol being renamed because consumers didn't like the product name. Some of the proposed possibilities included "Tush Juice" and "Itchy Butt Cream", with the chosen name revealed to be "It Hurts When I Shit cream". Bob Monkhouse once remarked on the instruction "Not for Oral Use" that "It's sad. You just know they got a letter... Dear Anusol, I have used your product and now I can only eat peas."
