Anthony Wallace (born January 26, 1989 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American soccer player who currently plays for FC Dallas in Major League Soccer.
[edit] Career[edit] Youth and CollegeWallace was born in Brooklyn, but moved with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida when he was two years old. He graduated from Lakewood High School before moving to Edison Academic Center in Bradenton, Florida for his final three years, where he was an honor student. He played college soccer for the University of South Florida, playing in all USF's games in 2006 as a defensive midfielder. [edit] ProfessionalWallace was picked as a Generation Adidas player and was the ninth overall pick in Round one of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. After making six appearances for Dallas' reserve team, Wallace made his debut for Dallas on September 15, 2007, in a 4-2 defeat to New England Revolution.[1] In the 2008 MLS Season, Anthony had a career high, four starts for FC Dallas. He also made 10 reserve team appearances scoring one goal. [edit] InternationalWallace played for the United States Under-17 and Under-18 teams and was a member of the USA Under-20 National squad in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Canada.[2] He played in two of the Group matches against Poland [3] and Brazil[4] and also played in the knockout stages against Uruguay [5] and the USA's Quarter Final defeat to Austria.[6] [edit] See also[edit] References
