Andrew "Andy" Alleman (born November 20, 1983 in Akron, Ohio) is an American football guard for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron after transferring from Pittsburgh where he played on the defensive line for two seasons.^[1]

Alleman has also played for the Miami Dolphins.

Alleman played high school football at Massillon Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio.^[1]

[edit] New Orleans Saints

Alleman was inactive for 15 games as a rookie with New Orleans. He dressed but did not play in one game. The Saints waived him during final cuts on August 30, 2008.

Less than 24 hours after being let go from the Saints, Alleman was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins. According to the NFL Network, 6 other teams claimed him, including Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and New York Jets. ^[2]^[3]

2008-2009 Season

Acquired by the Dolphins on waivers from the New Orleans Saints on August 31, 2008 Made his NFL and Dolphin debut in a reserve role on Sept. 14th at Arizona Made his first career start on Dec. 7th at Buffalo after Justin Smiley was placed on Injured Reserve Started last four games of regular season at left guard, played ten games in a reserve role and did not play twice this season

Started AFC Wild Card playoff game at right guard vs. Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 4, 2009, It was his first career playoff appearance
