[edit] Playing career

After three seasons with the Parramatta Eels, Ryan was unable to establish himself in the first-grade team and accepted a contract with the Bulldogs for 2003. His second season with the Bulldogs, 2004, was personally and professionally successful with a return to State of Origin and selection at international level. Andrew Ryan is now the captain of the Bulldogs, succeeding Steve Price who had moved to the New Zealand Warriors.

[edit] Representative selection

Ryan was selected to represent New South Wales as variously a second-rower or lock in five series to the end of 2007:

Ryan is also a mainstay of the Australian Kangaroos, appearing in three Tri-Nations series in 2004, 2005 and 2006 as well as a Test against France in 2005 and most recently in the 2007 ANZAC Test against New Zealand. He was selected for Country in the City vs Country match on 8 May 2009.[1]
