According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is the basis for a new HBO medical drama that is currently being piloted. The drama is going to be produced and possibly directed by Lost creator J.J. Abrams. Co-writing the show will be Rafael Yglesias and Tom Schulman, who won an Oscar in 1989 for Dead Poets Society. Groopman will be consulting on the show, along with his wife.
