[edit] Biography

Hill was born in Deadwood, South Dakota to a Japanese mother and a Finnish American father.[1] She became an acclaimed actress working with the famed Asian American Theater Company in San Francisco, California. Hill is also known in the theatre world as a respected performance artist, having written and performed a number of one-woman shows, including the autobiographical trilogy of Tokyo Bound, Reunion and Beside Myself. Of note, Hill has hazel colored eyes and wears brown contact lenses to "appear more Asian" for her parts.

Hill's other film and television appearances include the grandmother on All American Girl, Frank Costanza's Korean girlfriend on Seinfeld, Sue on 50 First Dates, an Eskimo on Night Court, a psychic on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Ms. Rangoon on Max Keeble's Big Move, Jocelyn Davis in Big Fat Liar, Psychic Manna Lisa in an episode of Six Feet Under, Louisa Pate in an episode of Desperate Housewives, Judge Gu in an episode of The Sarah Silverman Program, and Judge Eva Fwae Wun in Let's Go To Prison. She was nominated for a regional Emmy (Los Angeles Area) as writer/host of "Get Real" an Asian American Teen talk show on KSCI. She also appeared on My Wife & Kids as the nurse that assisted Lou Rawls & the lesbian daughter of D.L. Hughley's neighbor (Pat Morita) on The Hughleys.

Hill was listed as a potential nominee on the 2004 Golden Raspberry Awards nominating ballot. She was suggested in the Worst Supporting Actress category for her performance in the film The Cat in the Hat, but she "failed" to receive a nomination.
