American Sports University is the nation’s first and only 4 year university dedicated to sports management. The American Sports University (ASU) is a new, independent, private degree-granting institution in the discipline of Sports Education and dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sports industry.

American Sports University is located in the heart of downtown San Bernardino, Ca . The city is the gateway to the San Bernardino National Forest and mountains. California State University San Bernardino and San Bernardino Valley College are located in the same city. Many golf and recreational opportunities are available in the Inland Empire that surrounds the city. ASU is within an hour's drive to Palm Springs and Los Angeles.

American Sports University resides in the buildings that were once home to San Bernadino's The Sun Newspaper. The buildings have undergone extensive remodeling to accomodate classrooms. The campus spans two blocks and includes instructional classrooms, a dormitory, the ASU gym, and the future nursing school building set to open in 2010.

The historic Fox Theatre of San Bernardino is also a part of ASU's campus. The architectural details of the original structure have been restored.

ASU opened its doors to students in the fall of 2006. Dr. Donald Singer serves as President and Dr. Harry Hwang as the Chairman of the Board.

ASU offers undergraduate degree program that lead to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Education. Course work is available for students who wish to concentrate in: Sports Management, Sports Coaching, Sports Marketing, Sports Health, Sports Training and Fitness, Sports & Special Education, and Sports Recreation Management at both the degree and certificate levels. The programs emphasize theoretical and practical sports experiences in each of the emphasis areas. The student's academic instruction in Sports Education will be provided by working professionals in the sports world. They are dedicated to serving students who share their passion about a career in sports.
