Amazon Payments, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com [1] that provides a safe means to process transactions online. Launched in 2006, Amazon Payments leverages the massive consumer base of Amazon.com and focuses on giving users the same secure and trusted checkout experience available on Amazon.com. CBA can manage several aspects of the transaction including order processing, promotions, shipping rates, sales tax, and up-selling. CBA also claims to reduce bad debt because of Amazon's advanced fraud detection capabilities. [edit] Amazon Simple PayAmazon Simple Pay (ASP) is a set of payment-only products that allows web merchants to accept Amazon account information and use Amazon for payment processing. ASP differs from CBA in that ASP does not handle the additional capabilities such as order processing, promotions, tax & shipping, etc. [edit] Amazon PayphraseAmazon Payphrase is a recent (As of Nov 2009) addition to Amazon Payments that allows a person to checkout by simply typing in their phrase and their PIN, without having to put in any shipping or credit card information.
