Alyssa McClelland (born 1981) is an Australian actress with many film, television, and theatre credits. Alyssa was educated at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts in Sydney[1] and holds a BA Communications in Media Arts and Production from the University of Technology Sydney. From the age of sixteen she trained and performed with the Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney and in 2001 she received a scholarship from ATYP that enabled her to study abroad with the Atlantic Theater Company in New York [2]. Alyssa received an Australian Film Institute Award nomination for "Best Guest or Supporting Actress in Television" in 2005 for her role in Small Claims: White Wedding [3]. She played a lead role in the feature film A Man's Gotta Do (2004).[4] and in the Australian television series 'Canal Road' [5]. Alyssa has performed in productions with the Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies [6] , including 'The Shape of Things' in 2002/ 2003 ([7]) as well as The Belvoir St Theater in Sydney [8]. She was affiliated with the work of design duo moffitt.moffitt. for several years (www.moffittmoffitt.com), also dating Australian designer Mark Moffitt in this time [9]. McClelland was shortlisted in the final ten for the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards 2009 in the area of filmmaking for her achievements in writing, directing and producing short films [10]. [edit] Film
