Alexei Ivanovich Hegay (cyrillic: Алексей Иванович Хегай) (18 March 1908 - 2 July 1953) was a Soviet political operative in North Korea and leader of the Soviet Korean faction within the early political structure of North Korea. Hegay committed suicide and was replaced as leader by Pak Chang Ok.[1]

He was born in Khabarovsk, then Russian Empire, some 30 km from Chinese border, to parents both teaching in schools for Korean pupils.
