Professor Alexander Joseph (Malayalam: അലക്സാണ്ടര് ജോസഫ്) is an Indian entomologist and former Professor of Community Medicine at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. He played a key role in eradicating malaria from the Indian state of Kerala in 1965, also offered technical assistance to control malarial resurgence of the disease in Valiathura in 1994.[1] [2] The "Fact Sheet On Mosquito control" of the Indian Medical Association was done under his guidance[3].He is presently the Technical Consultant to the Departments of Health and Local Administration,Government of Kerala on malaria and other parasitic diseases .[1] He was also a member of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Program of the The Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences(SCTIMST),Thiruvananthapuram.[4][5] He is presently the Director (Academics) at the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences,Thiruvananthapuram.[6]
