The result is Mudra, born from the silence of the Tuscan hills and the noise of downtown Amsterdam. On this excellent worldbeat recording, "trancey" analogue keyboard sounds fuse with sitar and ethnic flutes for a unique synthesis of ancient exotic instruments and contemporary Western grooves. Mudra promises a danceable, joyous and upbeat musical journey.

This watery ribbon feeds the land and cleanses the souls of millions on its winding journey from the Himalayas to the sea. Imbued with rich images of the East, Water Down The Ganges flows languidly from lush meditative ambience into rhythmic celebration of the great river of life. Disciples of some of India's most respected master musicians, Joshua and Manish present this masterfully crafted recording, a perfect balance between acoustic clarity and electronic boldness. Just as one never stands in the same river twice, Water Down The Ganges offers a refreshingly new experience with each listen.
Prem Joshua and Manish Vyas: Water Down the Gange
TRACKS 1.)     Bolo Hari -6:47 Play MP3 sample 2.)     Mangalam -9:16 3.)     Secret Place -10:01 Play MP3 sample 4.)     Himalaya Trance -10:27 Play MP3 sample 5.)     Nanak -10:02 6.)     Dance of Kali -8:31 gThere are many soulful melodies played on Indian instruments like bamboo flute, sitar, dilruba and santoor, flying over strong ethnic and modern grooves, hip hop, drum 'n' bass and trancey rhythms and sounds--all interwoven with Manish's 'pumping' tablas. But there is one more thing: I got totally into singing! I got into my own very contemporary version of Indian 'tarana' singing and also chose some beautiful mantras. gThe main musicians I'm playing with are Manish Vyas, multi-instrumentalist from India; Maneesh de Moor, keyboardist from Amsterdam; and Rishi, drummer, producer and genius from Copenhagen. Of course there are also other musicians who left their juicy statements on the album, like Chintan and Dinesh from Hamsafar and great talents from the Indian and Danish music scene.h
