Aiko Shinoji, also known as Aiko Melendez, (born December 16, 1975) is a Filipino councilor and a former actress. Her father was an actor named Jimmy Melendez (born Jim Shinoji) who has Japanese and Spanish blood^{[citation needed]}. In the late 1980s, she was discovered by Regal Films where she signed a contract there and became one of Regal Babies. In 1995, her half-brother named Jam Melendez (son of Jimmy Melendez and Deborah Sun) also entered showbiz. She married Jomari Yllana in late 1990s and they had a son named Andrei, but their marriage was annulled a few years later. She ran for councilor in barangay elections in Quezon City in 2003 and won. Three years later, she married Martin Jickain, and they have a daughter named Marthena. In 2007, she and her husband began living separately.

On July 4, 2008, Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 225 Judge Sempio Diy granted the permanent protection Order against Martin, prohibiting him from coming near, within 1,000 meters of Aiko. Their daughter Marthena will be under Aiko’s custody, with 3-hour Sunday visitation rights for Martin.^[1]

Aiko Melendez is currently the councillor of the 2nd District of Quezon City.

She was first married by actor Jomari Yllana, and they have a son, Andrei Yllana. Her second husband is model Martin Jickain, and they have a daughter, Marthena. In 1995, her half-brother named Jam Melendez (son of Jim Melendez and Deborah Sun) also entered showbiz.
