Aghakhan Abdullayev (Azerbaijani: Ağaxan Abdullayev), born 1950, Baku, is an Azerbaijani khananda (folk singer), often called "Guardian" of the Mugham.[1]

He graduated from his secondary school in 1968. He then continued his education in A.Zeynally Music College during 1969-1973. He become mugham teacher in 1973 at Abilov Culture House in Baku. He also worked as teacher at A.Zeynally Music College in 1977.[2]

His concert career started in 1975 on the stage of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall. He performed with concert performances in several countries of the world, including Iran, Canada, Russia, Austria, Sweden, USA, and many other countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

In 1992, was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Republic, followed by in 1998 as People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Republic.[3] In 2000, for his pedagogical activity, he was awarded with the Honorary Diploma of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. In 2001, he become laureate of ‘Simurg’ Award of National Award Fund and laureate of ‘Humay’ National Award in 2002. He also received in 2003, laureate of ‘Live on, Azerbaijan’ Award.[4]
