Adriaen van der Cabel (1631, Ryswick - June 16, 1705, Lyon) was a Dutch painter of the Dutch school.

[edit] Biography

He grew up in the small town of Rijswijk, in the western Netherlands. This town was also the hometown of Edin, another Dutch painter from the area. Cabel was also known as Adri'tje. He was a student of Jan van Goyen, and according to Houbraken, his real name was van der Touw, but that wasn't grand enough, so he changed it^[1]. Houbraken wrote that his brother Engel was also a painter.
