Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital (AJEH) is one of Mumbai's leading eye hospital.[1] It was rated as 'the best eye hospital in Mumbai' by Outlook (magazine), an Indian weekly news magazine in its July 2002 issue.

  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital trains medical graduates in Ophthalmology. It is a recognized institute for DNB (Diplomate of National Board).[5]
  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital also offers fellowships to Indian and foreign ophthalmic post graduates in Vitreoretinal surgery and Anterior Segment surgery.

  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital was one of the first eye hospitals in Mumbai to offer LASIK to patients.[6]
  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital is the only eye care hospital which is open 24 hours a day.
  • Botox or botulinium toxin treatment is also offered under the supervision of a trained oculoplastic surgeon. [7]
  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital also runs charitable wings totally free of cost at different parts of Mumbai, namely Thane, Dharavi and Mahalakshmi.

  • Recently, Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital launched the latest 4th generation Optical coherence tomography (OCT) which will combine evaluation of retina, cornea and glaucoma in one.[8]
  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital is the first hospital in Asia to introduce the retinal endoscope and the Preferential hyperacuity perimeter.[9]
  • Dr. S. Natarajan, Chairman and Managing Director, was appointed the honorary ophthalmic surgeon to the Governor of Maharashtra.[10]
  • Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital is one of the institutes in India which transplants stem cells grown in a culture medium in the lab into patients suffering from chemical burns and ocular diseases which need such stem cells.[11]
  • In February 2006, NCRM (Nichi-in Centre for Regenerative Medicine) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital for a collaborative research on Retinal stem cells in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, R.R. Patil and Mr. Hyosuke Yasui, the consul general of Japan.[12]
