Addanki (Telugu: అద్దంకి), is a town and a Mandal headquarters in Prakasam district, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.^[1]

Addanki is located at 15°49′00″N 79°59′00″E / 15.8167°N 79.9833°E / 15.8167; 79.9833.^[2]. It has an average elevation of 24 meters (82 ft). It is located between Vinukonda (35 km) and Ongole(40 km) two major towns.

Addanki is an assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. There were 1,64,887 registered voters in the Addanki constituency in the 1999 elections. it have the history of around 2000years. Some ancient proofs are found in this area recently. is has been ruled by reddy kings (REDDY RAJULU). Two tourist spots i.e., Singara Konda Anjaneya Swamy ( Hanuman ) and Narasimha swamy are very famous near Addanki.

2009 General Elections The new Addanki MLA is Gottipati RaviKumar.

Addanki MLA Sri Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy has been suspended from the Assembly for six months in 2008. In reference to derogatory comments against Speaker KR Suresh Reddy while addressing a meeting last year. The issue was referred to the Privileges Committee to take action against him. Finally the committee called for six months suspension on Addanki MLA Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy. This suspension is seen as a conspiracy by the Congress chief minister Y.S.R and other congress members to eliminate the power of TDP in the district. Because he is the only MLA in the district who has power to fight Against the Congress.^[4].

Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy has some criminal cases against him. As in 2004, Cr.No. 50/87 u/s 147,148,302,201,149. Convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment sentence set aside by the High Court. SLP pending in the Supreme Court. Acquitted in 2 cases wherein charges were framed under sections 302 & 307 of IPC.

When Bachina Chenchu Garatayya was change into congress party and all of his fallowers are suporrted the Congress. By using of there support our MLA Sri Gottipati Ravi Kumar(Bujji) was breaks the TDP Records in Addanki and He re-write the records in Addanki assemble.He won with almost 15,000 votes Mejority.

The name Addanki has arrived by adding the two names like adda+anki. Adda was the name of a man who belongs to the cast chenchu and anki is the name of a woman. She belonged to eruka cast. They were lovers.

Addanki is very famous for bricks. The Gundlakamma river flows through this town. RAMAKRISHNA
