Adana Demirspor is one of the oldest sports clubs in Turkey, founded in 1940. At that time club was part of T.C.D.D.(Turkish State Railways) like the clubs having Lokomotive on their name in Eastern Europe. As their supporters commonly use ADS became the first club that participated in Süper Lig outside the 3 big cities' Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir teams in 1960-61 season. During the 2006-2007 season, the football club won TFF Second League Group 5, and finished 3rd in their promotion group. The club qualified for the play-offs in Bursa and lost 5-1 in the final to Giresunspor. In 2007-2008, the club won TFF Second League Group 3 and finished 3rd in their promotion group once again. The team qualifed for the play-offs in Konya and lost 1-0 final to Güngören Belediyespor.
