Below is a partial list of minor league baseball players in the Seattle Mariners system.
[edit] Denny Almonte
Denny Almonte (born on September, 24, 1988 in Miami, Florida) is a minor league baseball player. He was drafted second round by the Seattle Mariners in the 2007 draft. The switch hitter played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League.
Almonte, despite the similar name, is not Danny Almonte, t he little league pitcher who infamously was caught using a fake age saying he was younger than he was.
As of 2009 he plays for the Clinton Lumberkings.:
[edit] Javier Brito
Javier Jose Brito (born March 25, 1983 in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela) is a Minor League Baseball first baseman in the Seattle Mariners organization.
On April 25, 2002, Brito was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brito began playing in the minor leagues in 2003 for the Missoula Osprey, the Diamondbacks rookie league team. He also played for the Osprey in 2004. He jumped to the next level in 2005, playing in Single-A ball. He played first base as well as began to play in the outfield. 2005 also marked the first year in which he was named to an All-Star team.
Brito played for the Lancaster Jethawks, the Diamondbacks High-A team, in 2006. He played in 85 games, had a batting average of .355, and hit 16 home runs.
In 2007, Brito made the next jump, playing for the Double-A Mobile BayBears. He played in 127 games, hit 11 home runs, and led all of the Southern League with a .327 batting average. He was named to the Southern League midseason and postseason All-Star team. Following the season, the Diamondbacks purchased his contract on November 20, 2007. During the offseason, he was named the 26th-best prospect in the Diamondbacks organization.[1] He was not really part of the Diamondbacks' plans for 2008, but they purchased his contract to prevent him from being drafted in the Rule 5 Draft. [2] He became a free agent at the end of the 2008 season and was signed by the Mariners.

Harben graduated, in 2001, from Central Arkansas Christian High school.[5] He was originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 38th round (1137th overall) in the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign with them and was then taken by the Minnesota Twins in the 15th round (452nd overall) in the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft.
Harben began his professional career for the Rookie League Gulf Coast Twins in 2002. In 12 games with them, he had a 3.20 ERA to go with a 4–1 record. For the next two seasons, he played for the Single-A Quad City River Bandits. In 2005, he was promoted to the Advanced Single-A Fort Myers Miracle. Playing in 25 games, all starts, he had a 10–5 record with a 2.66 ERA.

He played in 29 games for them, 22 of them were starts, and had a 4–9 record despite a 3.96 ERA. On September 5, 2006, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs to complete an August 31, trade in which the Cubs had sent Phil Nevin to the Twins.
In November 2006, Harben underwent Tommy John surgery. On December 12, the Cubs declined to tender him a contract, making him a free agent. He was signed to a minor league contract by the Cubs the next day.
Harben missed the majority of the 2007 season save for three rookie league starts. On November 3, the Cubs purchased his contract, protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft. He was designated for assignment by the Cubs on September 22, 2008, and became a free agent at the end of the season. In February 2009, he signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.
