Abu Asim Azmi (born August 8, 1955) of the Samajwadi Party is the state president of Maharashtra Samajwadi Party. He also represented Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

Abu Asim Azmi is a socially active person and his is ever ready to serve the society in every possible way. Abu Asim Azmi has been Member, Radio Club, Colaba, Mumbai since 1992, participated in various activities of the Club especially in sports. He has keen interest in social, cultural and sport activities.

Abu Asim Azmi is the senior leader of Samajwadi Party, Maharashtra, Mumbai.

There had been persistent allegations that Azmi is linked to Dawood Ibrahim.^[1] Azmi had confirmed attending the wedding of Dawood's brother but denied any link with Dawood. ^[2]
He was also among the accused in the 1993 Bombay bombings, but was acquitted after lots of invistigation by the court of Justice. ^[3] He is still out on bail in connection with the multi-crore shoe scam case, which is pending before the sessions court.^[4]

Abu Asim Azmi is married and his son Farhan Azmi is married to Bollywood actress, Ayesha Takia. He also has business interests with declared personal assets exceeding Rs 100 crores.^[7]
