Aashti written by Seema Ghazal and directed by Adnan Wai Qureshi, is a drama seriel currently aired on Hum TV.It take concepts from Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi, Kahaani ghar ghar ki,Kasauti zindagi ki,Kahin to hoga ,Kaun banega crorepati(The 5 shows which broke all previous TRP,Popularity,Fan following Records of all the shows in Asia),but failed to live up to that quality and unexpectedly high dose of entertainment^[1].

Ashti is the story of a Bengali girl (Resham)who works as a maid for Abrash (Humayun Saeed)affluent family. Ashti is engaged to Nazrul Islam (Faisal Qureshi) but is secretly in love with Abrash who sympathizes with her and encourages her to pursue her education. However, she soon discovers that Abrash is to marry Zarnish (Angeline Malik). Events take a turn when Abrash and Zarnishs relationship faces problems. After a heated quarrel, Zarnish leaves for London and Abrash follows her to take a final decision once and for all. Meanwhile, Ashti also reaches there, and before any decision can be taken, to complicate matters further, Ali Alam (Sajid Hasan) Arshis father also appears on the scene. A nice play showcasing the culture of Bengalis living in poverty in Pakistan, with a rather offbeat storyline, Aashti has all the makings of a popular serial.

After marrying Ali Alam, Aashti discovers her diary in which Abrash stated:"Wait for me Aashti". Now Aashti is afraid what will Abrash do when he returns from London. When Abrash returns, he had divorced Zernish, to marry Aashti. When he finds out Ali Alam;his father, had married Aashti, he is furious and drives Aashti out of the house the next day.
