Aaron Michlewitz is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from the 3rd Suffolk District, within the city of Boston, Massachusetts. The 3rd Suffolk District encompasses the North End, Waterfront, Chinatown, South End, Financial District, Bay Village, Leather District, and parts of Beacon Hill, Back Bay, and Upper Roxbury neighborhoods. Michlewitz was elected in a special election in the spring of 2009. On May 19, 2009, Michlewitz won the Democratic primary with 50.19 percent of the vote, defeating Susan Passoni (46.13 percent), Lucinda Rivera (2.44 percent), and Brian Ross (1.04 percent). [1] On June 16, Michlewitz won the General Election with 79.78 percent of the vote, defeating unenrolled candidate John Keith (14.83 percent) and Republican candidate David Trumbull (4.37 percent). [2]. Prior to the election, Michlewitz worked for the Former Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Sal DiMasi as his Constituent Services Director.
