[edit] Sequel

Veteran director P Vasu, who rendered the hit of the decade in Kannada filmdom with 'Apthamithra' starring Vishnuvardhan and also its Tamil remake 'Chandramukhi' starring Rajinikanth, is ready for his next.

Director P Vasu is all set to come out with a sequel for his blockbuster Kannada movie 'Aapthamithra', which was later remade in Tamil by him as 'Chandramukhi'.

The movie which features Soundarya, Vishnuvardhana and Ramesh Aravind was the biggest grosser in Kannada filmdom. After a long gap, Vasu is all set to come out with a sequel for the movie. However with Soundarya no more (died in a helicopter crash), the hype was on as to who would play the lead role.

Finally it has been revealed that Sneha would do the role. The actress was recently spotted in Thirupathy Sri Venkatachalapathy Temple. Speaking after offering prayers to the Almighty, Sneha said, 'I have been assigned to do the lead role for the sequel of 'Aapthamithra'. I am eager to commence shooting for it. I offered prayers to ensure that things go well in my career'.[3] 'Apthamithra' went on to become a huge hit in Karnataka and the movie collected huge revenues besides completing a silver jubilee run. Vasu is keen to repeat the magic with Vishnuvardhan once again and if the sequel sees huge success there will be hope of a tamil remake Chandramukhi 2 [4]

But due to call sheet problems Sneha opted out of the project replacing Sandhya in her role.
