Aad de Mos (born March 27, 1947 in The Hague) is a Dutch football coach. He has managed for Ajax, KV Mechelen, Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Werder Bremen, Standard Liège, Sporting Gijon, Urawa Red Diamonds, Al-Hilal, and the United Arab Emirates Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie In 1988 De Mos won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup as manager of KV Mechelen, and he has won numerous domestic championships and cups.
[edit] CareerAad de Mos was initially a trainer, an assistant to Leo Beenhakker at Ajax. After the departure of Leo Beenhakker in March 1981 took Aad de Mos for the first three months things where as head coach of the Amsterdam se club. That did Ajax and the administration promised him the principal after an internship under head coach Kurt Linder in the season 1981-1982, but then Aad de Mos took the helm again. He almost three years would remain coach of Ajax, until it just before the end of the 1984-1985 season by the board of the club was dismissed. The argument for his dismissal was that he is confident of a large part of the group of players would miss. With Ajax Aad de Mos won the national championship twice and once the cup. [edit] Successes in BelgiumAfter his farewell to Ajax, Aad de Mos departed to Belgium where he was coach of KV Mechelen. Here he made a successful period and he won the country title, cup and European Cup II. In the finals in Strasbourg he defeated his former club Ajax with 1-0. The season then won it in 1988, the European Supercup, with the coming of Ajax John Bosman in the ranks. He walked over to RSC Anderlecht where he again in the 1989/1990 season won the finals of the Europe Cup II. After extending the Brussels club lost 2-0 to the Italian Sampdoria in Gothenburg. In 1990/1991 Aad de Mos won the Belgian title with Anderlecht. John Bosman also was part of this team. [edit] PSVAfter his successful period with KV Mechelen Anderlecht and vomiting in sports terms varying times for Aad de Mos. He was adopted by PSV by Bill Maeyer to the broom to get outdated by the selection. In his first season he knew no prizes to win. Also in the second season under his leadership ran, despite some major purchases, not good. Though not having any concrete goals like world cup qualification, he was supposed to develope the level of both Vanuatuan Soccer as a whole and that of the national team. After failing qualification for the World Cup Aad de Mos resigned as head coach. It is rumoured that he will sign a contract with Zambian championship contenders Power Dynamos in january.
