[edit] History[1]

The club was formed in 1965 from the merger of Phillipoi Kavala, Iraklis Kavala and A.E. Kavala. They have had a few runs in the top division of the Greek League. First time, they promoted in Alpha Ethniki in 1969 and were playing for 12 years (1970 - 1982).

In 1982 relegated in Beta Ethniki. After 11 years in Beta Ethniki and one year in Gamma Ethniki(1988-89) they became in Alpha Ethniki. After an "elevator" they relegated and promoted again and stayed since 2000

Then starts a "black" period for the team in which they playe only in Beta Ethniki and Gamma Ethniki In 2009 they signed players like Fanis Katergiannakis and Miltiadis Sapanis and they promoted again after 9 years in Super League Greece.
