The 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be the eighteenth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup (formerly called FIFA World Youth Championship) and will be hosted by Colombia, following FIFA's official announcement on May 27, 2008. Colombia beat the opposing candidature of Venezuela. This FIFA U-20 World Cup will be the first world youth championship to have 32 qualified nations^{[citation needed]}.
