[edit] 2010 Winter Olympics

During the 2009-10 season, the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held in Vancouver. This will mark the first time that the NHL has allowed its players to compete in an Olympic competition that will be held in an NHL market. As a result, the Canucks will be faced with the longest road trip in NHL history, with 14 games over 6 weeks, from January 27 to March 13, 2010[2] to allow General Motors Place to be used for ice hockey during the games,[3] which will shut down the NHL for 2 weeks, like it has since the games in Nagano, Japan.

[edit] Playoffs

The Vancouver Canucks will attempt to make it to the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time post-lockout.
