The eight clubs participating in the 2007 tournament were chosen by invitation. In 2008, the Major League Soccer attendees will be the teams that finish the season 1st through 4th and the Primera División Mexicana has determined that the last four semi-annual champions will compete. All games of the tournament were carried live on Fox Sports World in Canada (English), Telefutura in the United States (Spanish) and Televisa and TV Azteca in Mexico (both Spanish).
