[edit] Overview

Following promotion from the Belgian Second Division, Mons have returned to the Jupiler League immediately after dropping to the Belgian Second Division during the 2004-2005 season. La Louvière has dropped from the Jupiler League after finishing last, they were also refused a licence which caused them to drop two levels and so they now play in the Belgian Third Division.

[edit] National team

After failing to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Belgium will try to start the qualifying campaign for the 2008 European Football Championship better. To do this, René Vandereycken, the national coach, has already been looking for new younger players to create a new squad.
