The 1988 Arab League summit was held in June in Algiers as the seventeenth Arab League Summit. The focus of the conference was the First Intifada, the uprising of the Palestinians and surge of Palestinian terrorism against the State of Israel. The Arab states resolved to support the intifada financially.^[1]
