This article is about the 1962 Major League Baseball season only. For information on all of baseball, see 1962 in baseball.

The 1962 Major League Baseball season was the 62nd held between the American and National Leagues. This was the first 162-game schedule for the National League, as they added the Houston Colt .45s and the New York Mets to their lineup, as the NL returned to New York City, after a four-year absence. The American League had played its first 162-game schedule a year earlier.
