Çankaya University (Turkish: Çankaya Üniversitesi) was established on August 27, 1997 by the Sıtkı Alp Education Foundation in Ankara, Turkey. The university began its teaching in autumn of the same year.
[edit] HistoryÇankaya University is a prestigious university owned by a private foundation in Çankaya, Ankara, Turkey. The university was established by Sıtkı Alp, as a transition of his secondary education level school Arı College into a higher education institute, and opened by the former president of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel in 1997. The school is well known with the Law and Economics & Administrative sciences departmanets especially. Being established in the old campus of Ari College, Cankaya University's new campus is under construction. The new campus is expected to be opening in 2010, which will be the third largest one in Ankara after METU and Bilkent University with modern architecture and ample opportunities for its selected students.
